    Question Mounting Issue

I have a 2008 Nitro Z-7, I am trying to dash mount my Lowrance HDS 9 Gen2. The problem I am having is that the HDS 9 is 9inches and there is only seven inches of space between gages. then to bring it out 2 inches to get past the gages leaves 4 incehs of room between the Steering wheel and the fishfinder. The current gimble mount is too deep, it brings the fishfinder out a total of 8 inches bringing the total new depth to 10 inches when there is only 6 inches of space to use. I am stuck any ideas?

Could you get a 7” long piece of heavy aluminum angle and mount it between your gauges and use it as a shelf to mount your gimbal bracket to?
You can get aluminum angle 3”-4” wide and 1/4” thick.
If you could post a couple pictures of your dash it might help people come up with ideas.

I just remade my dash with starboard to space the gauges out further and then mounted the gimble to the starboard.
