    Helix 9 si gn1 vs gn3

I was looking at upgrading my helix 9 si gn1 to a gn3. Is there a big difference between the two of them. Also is it worth the cost to update?

The G3N's have standard HW CHIRP 2D sonar from a Low-Q piezo and three Imaging frequencies (455/800/1200 kHz). They have a dedicated Down Imaging piezo in the transducer, not composite DI like the first generation Helix SI units have. AND they have more power, (+) in the model name.

If you want a MEGA 360, the unit has to be a SI+ or DI+ model.

I would not to be using 360. As I do alot of dock shooting and would be more interested in knowing if the side scan would be better (clearer) than what I currently have on the gn1.

The G3N has a higher pixel count display and the transducer is longer.
Along with the higher frequency and more power, all of those create sharper images.

Thank you. That is what I was curious about.
