New boat for the new year... I am going to miss my Ranger, but...

I went to the Houston Boat Show, not expecting to buy a new boat, but open if I found something that would meet my needs better than my Ranger RT188. I had my Ranger set up to fish shallow in the marsh, creeks, and rivers. I loved the boat, and it did what I wanted when I was by myself, but once my wife and daughters wanted to get in the boat, seating was not adequate to make them feel comfortable.

I went to the boat show to look at the Vexus Center Console, and that boat just didn't wow me the same way their bass boats do. Personal opinion, the Vexus Center Console didn't get me excited. I even looked at some glass boats, which were much more deeply discounted at the show, but again nothing fit the bill. I wanted something that I can take into a stump filled lake/river or a bay w/oyster reef, and not worry about scratching my boat.

I walked by the Xpress dealer, and bam! There was the boat that made me light up: Aluminum, center console, seating for 5, tunnel hull (shallow water performance), and it was already decked out with Atlas Hydraulic Jack Plate, 115 SHO, Helix 9 Chirp, Minn Kota Riptide Terrova, SeaDek, Stereo. I bought the boat right off the convention floor! They are rigging up a PowerPole for me. I am getting the foot control for the Minn Kota, so I can use it or the remote, depending on how I am fishing. The boat is the Xpress SW20b.

I am picking her up on Thursday, this week, and I am ready to get her on the water, and get some fish smell all over her!

She's too pretty to get all scratched up.
