Pick up wasn’t forced out of his lane, from the trooper’s report

Sheron Williams, 24, of Suwanee, Georgia, was driving a white pickup truck westbound when he lost control and entered the ditch coming straight at Mass, Adger and the straight truck. The video shows Williams losing control on the interstate, spraying snow as he entered the shoulder before heading directly toward the straight truck

Drivers in snow country will tell ya—- first chatter on the CB is when the first one slides off the road and lands on its side or top.—- “ Must be getting a little greasy out, first 4WD is off the road.”
Both of our Subaru’s had no problem. I walked up past several that had spun out on a hill. Wife had to stop at the crest of another really steep hill while the car in front of her slid out of control and went into a yard. She pushed the hill decent button and her
Forester just crawled down to the bottom.

Four wheel drive or not there are safe speeds. Looks like that one was trying to make up some time.

4 wheel go don't mean 4 wheel stop.

Before the days of antilock brakes a 4 wheel drive would stop better than a 2 wheel drive. Have you ever drove a car on snow or ice with a dragging brake that would lock and slide one tire with slightest amount of brake pedal pressure? In a 4wd you can't slide one tire, you have to slide one in front and one in rear, because they are physically linked together. If you have differential locks front and rear you would have to slide all 4 tires. It's just in the mechanics of how a 4wd works. So now days we have antilock brakes, the mechanics of a 4wd are the same and the tires and brakes are all connected together, they work as a "team" . In a 2 wheel drive its every tire and brake for themselves, unless you have a differential lock, in that case the drive wheels would be working together.

That being said doesnt mean you can run 80mph on ice and stop in 50 feet. But a 4wd will stop better than a 2wd in slick conditions.

got an IPad? You can blow the screen up. Truck was never out of the right lane. Probably going to fast, came up behind the truck that was running slower, he was passing the truck as he was going off the road

Also notice, weather conditions were absolutely horrible and the pick up driver has the attitude—— I don’t need headlights, I can see just fine.

Everyone thinks because they have a pickup they are invincible in the snow. Trucks suck in the snow 4WD or not. They just have no weight in the back end and makes them fishtail like that truck did in the video. Best thing to have in snow is an AWD suv/crossover with snow tires. Even my civic is better in the snow than a 2WD truck

For most arrogant 4WD vehicle drivers, I got to agree.................but if the truck driver knows how to drive, then no.

AWD & 4WD cars drivers are just as bad, if not worse....seen many a subaru in the ditch cuz it's driver thought he could drive like an ass cuz he had AWD.

You can have the best equipment in the world for fishing and you still are not guaranteed anything. Same goes with cars & trucks. Nothing between the ears puts you back in the crowd.
