ProKote thread finish for Carbon Fiber grips

I’m gonna try some ProKote epoxy on some carbon fiber grips, should I apply before or after installing on rod?

I thought you put the epoxy on after you install them.

Why are you coating carbon fiber? Or did I misinterpret your intent? Thread finish isn't tough enough to be used on a gripping surface. And I can't imagine why you'd want a coating on carbon grips?

If you are referring to using it as a glue ..... don't.

My Bad. I thought he was referring to carbon fiber spinning rod handles. (Tennessee handle).

No idea why everyone wants to coat the carbon fiber grips. It takes away all of their benefits - awesome grip even when wet or slimy, lightweight, and sensitive. I guess if you only want them to look cool or...I guess want something slippery? Coat away.

My advice is to leave them raw. That's how they're meant to be used, and they fish great that way.
