    AVX 1880 with 115 underpowered?

I've read thru several earlier threads discussing the AVX 1880 with a 115 hp possibly being underpowered. I've also seen comments on the top speed. But, I've not found any posts by an 1880 owner discussing whether the boat feels underpowered. I.E. do you have to run at WOT (or near) to get a good cruising speed? I see several 2019 models with 115, so might go that route instead of ordering 2020. Not tournament fishing, so speed not essential. Also, might not be able to fit the 1980 into my garage....or budget....

if you are concerned perhaps you should consider purchasing it with the 135hp motor ?

OP, you will be more than pleased with the 115 on an 1880. I have a 135 on mine , but I like the 2 stroke. I have my hot-foot pegged out at 47 MPH cuz I'm not going to run the piss out of it, I just wanna fish. The 1880 gets up on plane fast and turns on a dime.

I have an 1880 with 115 Pro XS. I wanted a boat that fit in my garage as I have been storing boats in offsite storage for literally 15 years. The 1880 with 115 lifts and airs out really well. Handles great and on a good day I can get 50-51 mph. Depends on what you're looking for in a boat. Personally.....love mine. PM me if you have any specific questions

I also have a 115 Pro XS, boat gets up on plane quickly and scoots along nicely. Trimmed out just right you can cruise along in the lower 40's.

Thanks for the responses. I am considering downsizing boats and willing to give up some on-the-water performance to get a boat that: 1) can fit in garage, 2) easier to tow and 3) costs less to purchase and run.

Hit 52.6 today. Thats the best run so far. Full tank of gas with some chop on the water and just me in the boat.
