    New TM Wiring

I am going to upgrade my TM this winter for next year. Plan to upgrade to either a 24volt TM or run 2 12 volt batteries to my current TM. Either way, I need to run larger wiring from the batteries in the bilge area to the bow. Currently I have what looks like either 12 or 14 Ga wire. Tiny wires. I am reading that I need to run anywhere from 8ga wire to 2ga wire. What size is really needed? And how do I attach wires that are that big to the plug? It is about 18 feet of wire each, both positive and negative. ??

I would also replace the existing plug (connector) with a high current capacity connector, such as the Battery Tender DC Power Connector. It will minimize voltage drop across the connector. The cables can be connected using ring terminals. https://www.amazon.com/Battery-Tende...37473853&psc=1

I've always had 6 AWG in my boats for the trolling motor (24v and 36v) and never had an issue. You can probably get away with 8 AWG for 24v. Eliminate the plug and go with a terminal connector like this:

Ya go with #6 AMG Tinned Marine wire. May also need to replace your plugs with larger ones.(wouldn't hurt)

    E Bay has it also.
