    Hammer cranking rod ?

Is the action of the cranking rod more moderate than a regular medium heavy hammer rod is? I use a 7’ mh hammer as a crank rod now and wanted to get a 7’3” hammer. Is the 7’3” cranking rod comparable to any other rod?

I wish I could answer your question but I’d like to know too. I have thought about ordering one.

The hammer cranking series is a true moderate action in my opinion. The 7’6” mh runs dead on with it’s weight ratings and is a great rod. The power ratings are very similar to falcon so that works great for me but they might be considered slightly “overrated” to others.
I wish they offered a heavy cranking rod because I’m in the market for something right now.

I can only offer comparison to Falcon rods and find the 7’6” mh hammer runs just slightly lighter in power than a Falcon deep runner but very similar overall. 3/4 oz is the true upper limit of both rods and the hammer has an advantage with lighter lures.
