I have a 98 ZX202c in excellent condition that I was thinking of Repowering. I plan on keeping the boat, so the question I have is would I be able to tell much of difference in performance between a new 4 stroke 200hp and my 2.6L 200 vmax. I know the 4 stroke will be heavier. Thanks for any insight.
I repowered a 2002 ZX200 with a blown 2001 vmax (3.1) to a 2018 200 SHO. The SHO uses way less fuel...is much quieter...similar hole shot and top speed. The difference on mine is the mid-range....the SHO takes longer to reach full speed...that I hope to improve with a 4blade prop. I don't think there's much weight difference.
