I've run both the 8600s and the Ultras. I have 4 Ultra 126s on my boat now. Yes, the resolution of the 8600s is lights-out good. But I am very pleased with the all-around performance of the Ultras. Processor speed super fast, and built-in sonar much improved over the previous 7600 units. When compared to the higher price point of the 8600s, the Ultras will be the best fit for most in the bass boat market.

I have had my 106SV for a couple of months now and I love it. My only issue (and I seem to be the only one) is that I am having a hard time getting notifications to work without killing the battery on my phone. I need a few more trials to figure out the best way to handle this. I am not sure if my phone is trying to download the updated maps while connected to active captain or if it is a wifi issue with my phone. I need a few more times out on the water.

canon, I am not quite sure what you are asking. The maps that come with the 106SV are both the Bluechart Coastal Charts 3G and the Lakevu 3G maps.

106 is really nice unit. If I had any complaints it would be not being able to record and watch on the unit, including viewing pics. And since it doesnt mirror to a tablet or phone you're stuck with Homeport for recordings and its almost useless.

No complaints here with my Ultra, however it does interfere with the electric choke on the 75 Johnson

How about including a real, printed owner's manual???

Whats better about the built-in sonar on the ultras VS your 7600s? Just that it can handle uhd without a box?

    Thanks

Overall Side and Down clarity and target separation is better on the Ultras when compared to the 7600s.
