Lower Unit Drain Screw Seal Washer

My motor info is in signature. Went to local Mercury dealer and gave him my motor info. I asked me what color the seal washer was and I wasn't sure. He brought me back this package attached and the color was yellow. Hoping he gave me the correct item....haha

Yellow is correct for the newer motors. The blue is for the older motors like my 91 2.5 200 motor .

    830749 is correct.

Incidentally- while 830749 is the "correct" seal, you could use the blue fiber seals in place of them (191833) as they are interchangeable in their function.

The Yellow 830749 are much more durable, however.

Don, could you let us know the correct "torque" on the drain plug with each of these colors? Thanks

Since there are a couple of different drain and vent screw configurations- you should ALWAYS consult the appropriate Service Manual for torque values.

    In General:

    -191833 Blue Fiber Washer: 60 lbs/in

    -830749 Yellow (plastic) Washer: 100 lbs/in.

Note: That's "INCH pounds" (technically not the right terminology but want to be sure it's understood).
