I had a 60" on my Triton 220 Escape. Worked well in rough water

It's going to depend on what F&S you have and how it sits at rest in the water.

I have a Nitro Z19 Sport, I got the 60" to start and think I had about a foot cutoff the shaft. Could likely have just done a 45" shaft. If you are concerned, start with the longer shaft and shorten it to fit your fishing style and boat.

    My ranger 397xt uses a 45 but in rough waters I wish I had a 52”
