I'm thinking about adding two power poles to my Z185/150 merc 4s but am concerned about the weight. Does anyone know the weight or perhaps have the exact setup.

Post this in the PowerPole/Talon forum and you will probably get a faster answer. You also contact one of the PowerPole dealers that post in that forum for specs and pricing. They will beat the socks off anyone else when it comes to price.

The different models of Power Poles have different weights, with the 8-foot blades being the lightest. All told, twin poles add approximately 100 pounds to the stern of your boat. There have been many, many threads and posts concerning shallow water anchors and their effects on various bass rigs. Aside from individual loading and balance differences between rigs, the shorter the boat, *typically* the greater impact adding twin PP or Talons will have on boat performance. That said, many individuals are running twin poles on 18-19 foot boats with 150s. Sometimes the differences in hole shot, top speed, and backwash [coming off plane] are very minor, and sometimes they are more pronounced. Occasionally, a smaller prop or hydrofoil is needed to restore/improve hole shot after adding poles or Talons. A dedicated search of the Ranger forum could yield useful insight, or a query posed to a bass boat dealer that you trust.

The info is posted in the PP talon forum with the *ft sportsman being the lightest listed.

Just get the right mount that mounts the poles close to transom and kinda high up. Your effects will be next to none.
Have you considered a position lock trolling motor?
power pole is about 80 a piece for everything. you can expect to lose 1mph a pole. It does affect things.
Really didn't notice any difference, minus like 1 mph top end on my z19 Nitro.
Moving to lithium batteries for the trolling motor will cure your weight concerns.
Totally wrong an inaccurate information here. In the 2.0 poles the Pro series II is the lightest model,in the 1.0 series it was the the sportsman II models. The blade was always the heaviest model in the series "not the lightest" As far as weight the 8 foot blade model comes in a touch less then 60 pounds on transom weight for a duel setup with brackets. (About 49 pounds total on transom weight on the other 2 models). Far from the 100 pounds stated. If anyone would like accurate information on a power pole setup, as far as weight and performance after adding we would be happy to help. "Most" rigs with a duel powerpole setup will experience little to no holeshot change, top speed averages about 1 to 1.5 mph loss. Some rigs actually benefit with the added on transom weight and have seen no speed loss.

scroll down, Specifications. They have similar for all products. Weights of brackets are provided as well. Do some math and Bob's your uncle. Pump placement is clearly dependent on available space however the pumps don't necessarily have to be positioned as far back as possible. If you can move them forward, you can essentially counterbalance some of the weight on the transom. Something you can't do with Talons.
