New cover question

I’m upgrading my 1997 181 champ with new seat bases, padded deck, carpet , (2) helix 9s, Ultrex I-Pilot, recessed pedal tray. When it’s done I want to stop by Aroura canvas and have a custom cover made, my question is since the new Helix will sit above the windshield, what do you do? Do you unhook the cables every night and pull the unit or have the cover made to fit over it. Will it wear the cable connectors out unplugging every day. We have a place we go and stay for 3 we’re at a time, so we cover it every night. Any suggestions would be great, how do you guys do it? Thanks

Person opinion...unplug and take inside with you. That would be a tempting item for thieves....

I remove all the electronics from my boat at night when staying away from home. For the most part I don't even cover the boat while away. Just remove the electronics, put the lock-R bar on and plug it in.
