    GPSMap Turn on procedure

I just removed my EchoMap on the console and replaced it with a GPSMap as the EchoMap will not network with a GPSMap that is on the bow. I changed the power on to no and the power off also When I turn the Console unit on the bow unit turns on also. That would be fine but when I launch the boat I turn on the console unit first thing and the bow units transducers and not in the water yet. Am I missing something?

With units ethernet-linked, this is expected behavior. When you turn one unit on, all the other linked units will turn on.

Thanks Todd. Just as I expected but was hoping I could avoid having to uncover the Bow unit and making sure the ping on the LS is turned off.

May have to install an on/off switch on the front unit

I gave that a though but I have to many switches and plugs at the bow now. That GPSMap on the bow is only used for LS anyway and from what I been reading on here it is really not a big deal if the transducer is out of the water with it pinging.
