    Kaw lake????

I have been thinking about vacationing at kaw. My thoughts are parking a 5th wheel at a rv park and just coming down on the weekends. Don’t know much about the lake water clarity, is it good for bass fishing? Do they have boat slips to rent by the month, yearly? We also like to boat around as well. If you have any thoughts that would be awesome or even another lake. Any suggestions would be awesome something to check out before summer thanks.

I would think they’re are much better options for what your wanting do. There’s not much to see here, not real scenic, and the bass fishing is just so so. The water clarity depends on how often it rains here or up north of here. Seems like just sprinkles turns it to chocolate milk. You can find bass here but it’s not a quality bass fishery. Catfish and sand bass fishing...ok. I used to fish it quite a bit. Now I wrinkle my nose up when it comes due on our club fishing schedule. I think for vacationing though there are better options. Just my thoughts.

Skiatook is on down the highway another hour. Pretty lake, two large marina’s, and pretty good fishing. Much clearer water usually.
close to a big Indian Casino if you like that thing. Another hour East you can hit Grand or Hudson lakes. With smaller Eucha and Spavinaw clear and nearby.

If you're wanting to fill the freezer with blues and big crappie or have have fun catching sandies and hybrids, Kaw is great. It's a below average bass fishery though. You can find some nice 2-4 lb bass, both spots and largemouths, but it's definitely not a numbers lake. The lake has unlimited forage so everything you catch is usually fat and healthy.

I have never fished for bass on Kaw just cat fish. I use the sarge creek ramp it has a nice setup for RV's with a clean shower and bathroom facilities. If your going around a holiday weekend make sure to make a reservation it will be full. send me a PM if your going around memorial day I got a tip for catching a lot of nice cats. We go over at that time every year to do it look forward to that trip all year.
