Yes, I updated the same unit as you. I did not use the instructions on the humminbird update site, I used the instructions from the manual, which are slightly different. All went well, with no issues.

Check the System Status page and verify the unit still shows the older software version. If so, maybe try using the other card slot.

Ezfishn, thanks but I did try the other slot, also I did verify that it is running 2.110 software. Appreciate your response!

Be sure you selected the the update for your Helix there is a difference between the SI and the DI downloads. The unit will not even know you put is the wrong one in fact it doesn't even know there is anything on the card just gives a screen blink. Don't ask me how I know this.

How do you know this , lol
I figured this out, and I can't believe how clueless I must be. I decided to try the fishsmart app. I have never used it before but figured it might work. I paired with my new Helix, clicked update and it loaded the file to my phone. Then I clicked transfer and it started sending it to my Helix. Then I noticed a strange thing. The file name was Helix 10 Mega SI G3N. I thought that isn't right, why does it say that. The serial # was correct. I am so confused, lol. The transfer completed with all the usual prompts, continue, abort, etc. Then I went to the status page and verified the update, serial#, and model name, Helix 10 Mega SI G3N!! All along I had an SI unit and didn't even know it! The box it came in says DI, the sticker on the unit says DI, and the transducer that shipped is a DI. When it boots up, of course it says SI, and i didn't even notice. This is why the Helix didn't see the file on the sd card because it was for a DI unit. Now I'm not sure what to do, as I have the wrong transducer. This is crazy!

I found out beating my head against the boat when the file I downloaded wouldn't work in the bow unit but then worked in the console unit. One being a SI+ the other being a DI+. My file was for the SI+ I guess I didn't read real close and just grabbed the first one on the list.

I have the same setup. I updated my SI unit with no issues. The DI unit, a different story. I think I have beat my head against the boat a time or two as well!

So Wayne, a couple of questions. Now that I have determined I have the Helix 10 Mega SI G3N, and it was shipped with the XM 9 HW MDI T transducer, will it work ok with the SI model . Also, if it's compatible, which transducer should I select on the Sonar menu page. Since I purchased this unit with the goal of using 360 on the bow are there any possible conflicts I might run into in the future? Thanks.

What does the SYSTEM STATUS view show as the model?

If you do have a mismatched unit, the setting to use the DI transducer is HW+ MEGA DI

To run the MEGA 360 takes a MEGA SI+ unit or a MEGA DI+ unit.

I am using a Helix 12 CHIRP MEGA SI+ GPS G3N with the MEGA 360 and a MEGA DI+ transducer.

So it looks like I will be fine with what I have. I'll change the selected transducer to HW + MDI. THANK YOU!

Are you sure you have the right update file. It has to match your unit exactly. What is the exact model from the back of your Helix?

That would be the HW Promo model made in 2019---first two digits in the unit serial number.

Verify that date and what model is displayed in the SYSTEM STATUS view.

I downloaded the file and the name matches the unit model.

What capacity size is the memory card you are using?
