    2020 Skeeter ZX150

Was reading the latest bassblaster newsletter and saw that Skeeter came of with a new model ZX150 for 2020. After a little internet searching I came across the first one In a showroom at Nixon Marine in Pasco, WA.

    https://www.nixonsmarine.com/default...=xAllinventory

Boat looks pretty nice for an entry level 18’ boat with a 150HP, but price wise it seems
comparable the ZX190. Can anyone help answer what’s different (good or bad) between the ZX190 and the new ZX150? Is the ZX190 going to be deprecated to be replaced by the ZX150?

Anyone test drive this new model to compare how it rides? I’m in the market, but unfortunately this boat isn’t anywhere near me where I can see it in person.

    Thanks.

It's replacing the zx190. Just making it in line with the rest of the models. ZX150 = Yamaha 150, etc. The website will be updated shortly. Some changes to the boat, but same changes would have been made to the zx190 for this year.

The ZX190 is the same tired design they have used since the 2012 TZX190.
Come on Skeeter, you can do better at updating the design.

The 2020 Zx 190 was ordered before they changed the design and went to the zx150. Once the 2020 zx190s are gone there gone

So basically there are two 2020 ZX190/ZX150 models? One with an old design and one with a new design? Talk about confusing people. I guess like when there was the ZX190 and the TZX190.

Seems like a totally new design, bit longer and wider than TZX/ZX190, 12 inch jackplate, larger fuel tank, new cockpit, seats just to name a few items that differ. At least they put a step up to front deck and made the back compartment a hinge design as well, the existing one is too large and a pain to open for access for charging plug and basic things. Not sure why they are not allowing 175 as the max HP, if they want to compete with the other brands in the 18ft segment that is a mistake.

Next up they need to update the ZX200, seems like that design has been around since 2011 as well without many changes overall.

Please Skeeter, if you monitor this page, Don't mess with ZX200 or the ZX225. I've been in ZX's since 2002. Best fishing boats Skeeter ever made. I just bought a 2020 ZX200. Like it better than the 225. That 19'-5 boat just suits me.

If some one wants to p.... away money for the latest and greatest, there are FX's and FXR's. The ZX's are fishing boats.

Ok, this looks like the 2016 ZX190 released again as the ZX150.
2012-2014 ZX190s were the same except for minor changes
2012-2016 TZX190s were essentially the same
2015 the ZX190 was skipped for this model year
    2016 All new ZX190
    2017 TZX190 re-labelled as the ZX190 and remained the ZX190 until now
Now a new ZX150 with the same dimensions and look as the 2016 ZX190
    Very interesting..........

Probably didn’t sale many 190’s with the 175 so rebadge it as a 150 with 150 max

For some odd reason the 175 SHO didn't exhibit the same performance increase over the 150 SHO as the 175 HPDI did over the 150 HPDI.
    No bang for the buck....
It does make me wonder what Yamaha will do now that their own boat manufacturer does not have a flagship for the 175 SHO.
Perhaps Skeeter's next boat will be a ZX175, 18'11", 95" beam with a 175 SHO. Better electronics package with PowerPole and tandem trailer for $5k more.

Yes, both the ZX190 and ZX150 show max hp 175. Some differences in width, gas tank and other minor things. Big difference is the ZX190 has a rebate and the ZX150 doesn't. Gonna be some pissed off people who ordered or bought or will buy a ZX190 and then find out about the ZX150. And rickmb's post above is correct. There was or still may be a problem with the SHO 175. I spoke to a Yamaha rep a few years back and they said the 150 was better. I think due to gearing.

Not sure why they would t put the cooler in the floor or make a step where that huge wasted floor space is and make one big lid the size of the current coolers and compartment. Don’t understand boat companies thinking sometimes. Or maybe they don’t want affordable or less expensive boats being able to fit needs so you’ll buy a bigger/more expensive one.

Really dislike the rocker switches in the graph panel. Looks like they could have found a better place for them
