    NC legend passed.

    Bill Poe a supporter for many NC bass fisherman passed away today.Please keep Mary Ruth and Mike in your prayers.

    Bill was a custom rod builder and tackle shop owner.He was a great friend to so many bass fisherman and will be missed.

    He was a great rod builder and one heck of a funny guy. Years ago, I spent many hours in his shop just chatting with him and watching him work. He will be missed. RIP Bill.

    Sorry to hear that, have a number of rods made by him. My 3 boys were always excited to go to his shop, cause there was usually a rod with their name engraved on it in there.

    Same here. many a trip to Staley NC to visit Bill. Remember my 1st custom rod Bill made for me w/ Loomis blank and spiral wrap. My thoughts and prayers.

    Yes been to the shop many of times. Just proves a good location is not the most important thing in business. Been a lie or two told in that shop. I loved going through all the WEC crankbaits there

    Loved shooting the bull with him and Jake on the river.
    Jake was a real treasure. One night in Bill's shop two fisherman were really complaining,about their weekend tournament.Jake looked at them and said boys let me tell you about a bad day,The Battle of the Bulge.The two fisherman shut up real quick.Jake was an American Badass but you would never it by the way he carried himself.Two great men hopefully fishing in heaven now.
