Very raspy motor noise after TDR reed installation

I have on ‘06 175 Optimax s/n 1B389153, and have installed TDR reeds on it. Once the reeds reeds were installed it has a noticeable change in sound in the mid-range RPM’s and during deceleration. I’ve heard the carbon fiber reeds are louder than the stock SS reeds but it almost sounds like something is loose in that range. No sound difference in high or low rpms. Do I have a reason for concern or is the sound difference that noticeable between the 2 reeds. Thanks for any input!

I’ve installed thousands of sets of TDR reeds with zero issues, might check your instillation process , fiber reeds ARE a bit louder than steel ...

I tend to agree. A careful visual inspection under the cowling, check anodes, mounting hardware, steering hardware, jackplate, etc for anything not torqued properly.

Belt, tensioner, air compressor, and alternator/brackets are other areas of interest.
