    Question New 921 w/250 merc 4stroke

So I have a boat on order and it seems the dealer is going to throw on the 23fury, cause I’ve heard ( maybe just shop talk rumors) but it’s just easy to run and drive and an all around easy forgiving prop...I have been running high 70’s mph in my current 721 running a 27T1, and was wondering is there a better prop out there to get more speed out of a 921. I figure I’m going to lose some speed compared to 721 anyway so I want the best prop (fastest) I can get. I will have a 12” hydraulic plate so I can work on the height adjustment.

Anyone have a new 921, thoughts ? Also I got the humminbird 10” on the bow.. and I going to regret not getting a larger screen or is that plenty big enough ?

thanks for all the input guys

Bought one late last summer, but have limited time on it. Has poles, Atlas, Ultex 36v, decent amount of tackle, my lean and mean #225 self (LOL), a skinny partner, water in livewells, and a 24 Fury 3 typically ran around 72 mph.

see I wanted at least a 24 but the dealer said something about the gearing being reworked so a 23 actually works better now ??

I have a 24 fury on my 921 pro xp and I like it. Im 6'5" 270 approx 3/4 tank of fuel 1 full livewell and im getting 75 out of it with a pretty good tourney load.

So my question is if it will spin a 24 why would they down size to a 23... would that not lose several MPH ??

I'm not interested in downsizing at all, just letting the OP know what mine would do.

I’d start out with a 24. Seems like the 23 would be all over the limiter and won’t be happy with it

I have a 24 fury on my 921 but I tested a 23 fury and will be ordering one shortly. my 24 fury is usually around 5850 rpms and 72-74 tourney load. 23 fury ran same speed if not just a bit better but got me to 6100 rpms.

I would keep the 23. Worst case, it runs a few to many rpms and you get it worked to add some cup and balanced and it will pick the boat up better and really run

I'd stick with the 23 if you have hot summers or run heavy. Most of my run time has been in cooler temps and I'm barely getting 5900 with a medium tournament load in the cooler temps with a 24

We run a Bravo XS 4 Blade on our 921's and get more speed and better hole shot than the Fury.
