The easy days on an ARIG were really good here the first year. This winter they are eating it better than ever. Crankbait bite comes and goes as well as other baits. Arig bite here dies in March . Crankbaits are really effective post spawn.

Why don't you ask KVD if crankbaits are dead...

I’d sure like to fish an A-rig in MN to see how long it would take them to get conditioned to it...

I think it's just as effective for the guys that dare to fish them in places most won't. That requires the right gear and good casting accuracy. What I see is the majority of guys that want to fish a laydown pull out a spinnerbait or chatterbait anymore or a worm. There are times, particularly in the fall, I've noticed they really want that deflecting, erratic action that comes from a crankbait as opposed to a spinnerbait. Can't remember the last time I've caught one on a spinnerbait.

I tell you, I think at times the Plopper is spooking them.

I fish a Lake that has very clear water and most guys fish plastics. I use crankbaits and spinnerbaits and do very good and always larger fish. FISH THEM FAST !

Crankbaits haven’t lost a step. It’s like any other lure. Find the fish, find the color, find the right depth. They’ll bite.
