    2005 Yamaha 225 hpdi info

I am buying a 2005 225 hpdi with 52 original hours and supposedly the original powerhead. Going to get a compression test and the history pulled off the computer. I want to check with Yamaha to see if it has the updated oil pump on it. Is there anyway to pull that info up through Yamaha or is that dealer access only? What do you guys suggest needs to be done as far as maintenance to make this thing go as long as it can? Thanks

That's very low hours for an original 2005. The oil pump will have a number printed on the side you'll see the following for a 225

    VZ200, VZ225, Z250 and LZ250
    60V10, 60V11 or 60V12 gets replaced with a 60V13

I called the marina and they ran the serial number and it did get the bulletin for the upgraded oil pump in 2007. He said another bulletin was issued and done. It was in 2017 and it sounded like it also was something to do with the oil pump.

Honestly, I would do a complete service with all the filters and replace the transfer pumps and have the injectors serviced. Check or replace rubber lines and all the adjustments. Replace water pump and.check the tuner while you are there. Then you will know what you have. Prop it to just under the limiter and enjoy it. Cj
