Curious what is your motor doing or not doing that you think you need to install a new exhaust back pressure diaphragm?

Exhaust nipple is usually pretty well clogged when I check it but after cleaning it doesnt seem to make a difference in performance.

Curious what performance issue you have that you think changing the back pressure diaphragm will remedy?

The diagnostic software will tell you if its clogged or not, if its clogged the back pressure reading will be stuck on one value.

For the board experts, does the following motor have a exhaust back pressure diaphragm? S/N is 05116699

mod#E225DHLSDF. I also have hard cold starts as Double Trouble mentioned he has and cleaning/replacement of the exhaust back pressure nipple did not have any affect. Thanks in advance.

Yes it does, it is located on the powerhead adapter plate right behind the lower engine cover mounting stud.

Thanks ChampioNman. I looked on the evinrude/johnson parts web site and cannot find this part. If you could point me to the correct page or P/N that would be appreciated.

Follow the hose up from the nipple through the wire harness. It will be at or just above the #1 cylinder.....black round disc shape with a hose on the other side going to the EMM. It is approximately 2" in diameter 1/2' thick....
