    '03 OX66 VX200TLRB Remote Oil Tank Removal

Last fall after I purchased this boat and was doing some cleaning in the bilge I noticed a big oil slick around the remote oil tank. Guessing someone over filled the tank...they stuck a shop rag down beside the tank to soak up the oil and just left it there. Wow what a mess.
I want to remove the tank and clean up that whole area.

Is this an easy project and anything I need to know about removal or re-installation? I cannot see enough of the top of the tank to determine how all of the hoses attach.

I have had mine out and don't remember any issues, so it has to be easy. BUT while you have it out I would replace the filter as that may plug up causing a no transfer condition. CJ

    THANKS for the reply CJ1.
The exploded parts view makes it look simple but we all know how misleading that can be.
    Will definitely replace the filter.
After i made this post, I was looking at the tank and I now see where there is a small amount of oil on top of the tank where the fill hose attaches. Now I'm thinking I might have a loose hose connection or maybe a damaged hose.

There's an issue with some of the oil tank caps cracking (mine has). IDK the susceptible years/models.

Just a point of clarification, a VZ200TLRB isn't an OX66, it's a HPDI. An OX66 would be a VX200TLRB. Not that it makes any difference in this instance.

Can you add more detail about what has happened to yours? Are you saying the remote fill cap mounted in the glass is bad or??

Don't forget that the caps have a vent hole on them as well so if you overfill they will leak.
