    2004 mercury...50 hp

    freind of mine has this motor and it won't idle....he has to cold start it just to run.
    anyone have any idea what makes it do that.

    possible carbs flooding, pump bad , linkage adjustments are some of the many that can cause this , start with the basics compression first, then good spark, good luck JOE
