    2006 evinrude etec 225

    I'm looking at a stratos with 225 etec engine. I have never owned an evinrude. What are your opinions of this particular motor? Any issues I need to look for?

    As long as it checks out....if dealer they can pull the emm files and see if it has or had issues....i not take it to a dealer and have the history pulled on it.....

    I have a 2008 225 and the only issues have been the injectors (replaced them all, issue from supplier) and the lower unit (L1 not strong enough to handle the power). My tournament partner has one from around that time period and it has been flawless for 2000 hours with just routine maintenance

    I have a 07 225 approaching 1500 hrs, it's been a great motor. There was a factory recall for the water pressure relief valve, but that should have been done on that motor by now.
