Good for your son! It will be a great season even if you don’t get one. I remember my boys first deer like it was just the other day. So do they.

Looks like you need to take a break! My oldest boy ( one that had cancer ) is working too much to get in many trips. Just twice this year. He killed a 9 point three years ago with a 17” spread. That’s his biggest mount. So hoping he could get a once in a lifetime deer. Watching one on our property that has a 22” spread for him to hunt but it needs to grow another year to get a little more mass. Might score 140 now. Just hopefully it can keep from getting shot one more year. Too many people around us kill a 2-4 year old buck that if let walk would make a monster here. A monster here is anything 150 up. There was a 220 inch typical killed about 100 miles from me. So there are biguns in certain areas in Mississippi. Come down and I will break you from that habit of “ All work and no play”

worst season ever. I only got to hunt about 20 sets and it was the last one that I was finally able to take a doe. I let a couple small 8's go. not a good season at all!

I know Ron. Need to slow down. I know them boys of yours have had a hard time. Hopefully they can do more too! I’m planning on doing a lot more than I have the last couple years. All my major projects are done, so now it’s time for me to start enjoying things!

Yes but they are small pen type animals, I just lost interest in low fence deer after I killed my net 200. I really enjoy watching these deer grow through the years. We aren’t really in the big freak no typical, I like the huge typical frame deer.
