    Reinforcing glovebox

    At tricks here gents?
The plastic on my old Ranger is very brittle around the glovebox latch and hinge.
Is there some type of plastic cloth I can glue down?
I can repair it on the inside and it’s out of sight.

Sand the surface and epoxy a couple layers of fiberglass fabric to it. Home Despot sells a 3M kit that should set you up.

I agree. I've been told that resin has a short shelf life though. If you go the Homeless Despot route, I'd try to buy the newest resin I could. Maybe even be worth calling a forum sponsor on here that could give you some advice on how long resin is good for before you head out.

They have some good two part plastic epoxies used in the auto business to fix plastic bumpers and could also be welded with a plastic welder.

JB plastic weld and some 45 degree biaxial fiberglass cloth will make it solid for years to come.

I think that's used as a filler/fillet material more than for the bond strength.

All done. I should have taken a before pick. The previous owner thought it was a good idea to replace the door cover with that diamond rubber mat.
    back to stock now.
