Guides for Walleye and Smallmouth on St. Clair and Detroit River?

Thinking about making the trip up early in June. Anyone recommend a guide for Smallmouth and Walleyes? Also any tips on lodging? Will be a group of 4-6. Thanks

Sent you a PM as well. There are plenty of hotels in the Chesterfield area that will work. The zip code is 48051 for that area. You won't regret a trip up in June. It almost too easy at times.

My son caught his PB last year, 6.16 in June. In fact it the biggest we've ever caught on St.Clair. A 7 is the elusive goal, not too many out there, or at least you hear have been caught.

    Gerry Gostenik

Gerry's is one of the top guides for bass in the Detroit area. He also offers Spring walleye jigging trips on the Detroit River. He can accommodate larger groups of anglers as well.

Lance (Cpt. Cheeseburger) is the King of walleye no one better
Marcel and his team is on the water every day at least I see him and his boys every time I’m out there (2 or 3 times a week) good people and will put you on the fish
GG is a funny guy and will keep you laughing
There’s also Art Ferguson I see him out there a lot

Call up Cpt. Joel at Fish Headz and talk to him about the kind of fishing you'd like to do for both walleye and smallmouth. He's one of the only ones that I know of that guides on the DR, LSC, and SCR. Early June is the peak walleye bite on the lower SCR. Marine City and Algonac are approximately the same drive from Chesterfield as going down to the DR.

Joel Piatek at fishheadz.com for walleye (I’ve done 5 trips with him)

Marcel Veenstra or Gerry Gostenik for smallies. (I used both multiple times before I got a boat)
