    Set up

Anybody running a SST / SS. With a 300R. And a 1:60 gear case. I'm looking for some set up ideas. Motor height, prop, ect. I'm still in break in but will need to make some major changes from my old 300 xs / 1:75.

Not a problem. The weather is about to turn for the worse here in Ohio. I'm going to try and get the break in time done but it may be a slow process.

I ran a 175 and a 162 case on my 300 XS. This seams to be a completely different animal as far as the way it acts so far.

I was one of the first I know to get the 300R with a 1.60 gear. I wish I would have went with the 1.75.
I do not know of anyone that has gotten the 1.60 hoping for better performance than the 1.75 and gotten even the same.
Is the performance good enough for a soon to be 65 year old bass fisherman, absolutely yes. Will my XRS with 1.60 run with an XRS with 1.75....Not with what I hear from 1.75 users.
My advice is stick to the proven 1.75 ratio if you are interested best performance.

I've already got a 1:60. Now have to figure out how to make it run.

So far for me the best prop has been tried and true 28 Bravo XS.
Are you using hydraulic jack plate or standard adjustable?
I live in Fairfield Ohio. I have a 27 pitch max5st you are welcome to try. I started with 29 max5st and it would only turn about 5850 rpm at best.

A SST is a faster boat than a XRS. I would start with a Bravo 29 XS. About 1 inch below pad. I had my best speed with that prop and was at 1.5" above pad. Ran over 90 in a XRD

Need to run above the pad. I'm turning a 31 max 5 6250 rpms @95 loaded with2 people no water in live wells no power poles but full of fuel. It's 1 1/2" below pad but I will bring it up one more click soon as hunting season is over. It's on a 21xrd.

Only one I've tried is a 28 hydromotive. Had to many holes open and blew out pretty bad. I've got a 30 bravo xs. And a Billy Eads worked 27 trophy.

JR22 I'd love to try that max 5 if we could get hooked up when I get the break in done.

The boat ran 94 light with a 300xs @1.25 above the pad. I think that was with a 31 hydro
