When will the white bass start running on Pickwick?

Wanting to take my nephew to catch some. It's been awhile since I've fished for them. When do they start running?

Never seen one run, but they are biting pretty good right now on the Tennessee River.

Based on the number of birds, I'd bet they're probably schooling and feeding on shad in the Shoal Creek area just above the US-72 bridge although I haven't specifically fished for them in quite a while.

They’re fun to catch. I’d love to get my son on a school of them.
