If you have integrity, nothing else matters. If you don't have integrity,
nothing else matters.
My suburban has "helper" bags mounted inside the rear coils. Installed by the previous owner. Were they needed? I don't have a before and after experience to be able to say.
A lot of horse and cattle folks around here get them put on there 3/4 & 1ton trucks. Sure makes for a lot softer ride on HD pickups especially when empty.
Can’t see where bags would be beneficial to tow a bass boat unless the suspension has been lowered/modified.

My Ram has air suspension and I really like it. Makes hooking and unhooking a breeze. A friend added bags to his half ton Ram and it keeps his truck level when loaded or pulling a boat.
I have a Lincoln Navigator and it has Auto Air Leveling !! It is SWEET !!!

My Ram 3500 has airbags.
I have a set of bags on my 1/2 ton Chevrolet. I use my truck to tow lots of different loads so its nice to level the truck out. My boat has very little tongue weight so I knock the bags to 10psi to help with our rough roads around here.
Same as what Kevin R said above ^^^^^ I had a set of air bags on my 2013 1/2 ton Silverado when we had a 14' pop-up camper with a cargo box on the tongue. The air bags are great for the cost and worked well for everything I needed to tow. The Air Lifter 5000 air bags called for 5 psi minimum for unloaded driving around. Air bags aren't really needed for a boat, but nice for other towing and hauling needs. System was easy to install too.
