The new stern bracket on the 8 foot and 10 foot blade models is a completely new concept in stern bracket design. The construction begins with a polymer core that is extremely strong and durable yet lightweight. The core is then reinforced with stainless steel plates that are hinge pinned directly through the upper and lower channels of the anchor arms. The pre-assembled rod joint keep the anchor tight and stable minimizing wobble or vibration. This also makes nuts, bolts and screws a thing of the past - no more need to tighten the anchor to the stern bracket. The new bracket also allows the new heavy-duty hydraulic hose to exit from the top of the bracket making port or starboard installation a breeze. All of this is covered by a new powder coated polymer cover with a high gloss finish.
The new stern bracket on the 8 foot and 10 foot blade models is stronger yet lighter with just the right amount of flex to make sure the anchor performs perfectly in any conditions including salt water as mentioned above.
Because they wanted them to be ugly like Talons and not give you the option to have the other style.
option was there at the time for the other style if requested, your dealer (whomever it was) failed to inform you. the new bracket is a vast improvement, and while you cant please everyone the general feedback from our customers has been positive. even with the new bracket they are far from looking like a talon IMO.Originally Posted by Astyle954
