Is there a difference between the smartstrike and the lakemaster plus chips? Amazon has the smartstrike for $100 and didnt know or couldnt really find a difference.

There are three Lakemaster map cards for each region, all have the same contour mapping.
Lakemaster has contour mapping.
Lakemaster Plus has contour mapping plus satellite image overlay.
Lakemaster SmartStrike has contour mapping plus fish location prediction software.

One more thing the Version is how many years that particular product has been in production. Each product for a single region can have a different version number for the same year.
Check the Humminbird Lakemaster site for the current version numbers so you won't be purchasing a map card older than a year.

They are just as Wayne described. They all have the contour mapping. The Plus is the only 1 with the aerial overlay. If you don't have a lot different lakes you plan to fish you can go with chart select and pick a lake and customize (or purchase) separate overlays.

Does the lake master chip have 1-water level offset,2-depth shading? Not really sure I need aerial sat overlay or fish predict. The water level offset and contour shading is AWESOME. The HD mapping is second 2 none also
