Wayne,. I have Helix 10 MDI gps g3n cho up from Ethernet connected to Helix 10 HW MSI gps g2n at the back of my tiller. Will I get the 360 images I want if I have a y cable up front to use us2 sonar with my 360?

Yes with the 360, no Y cable needed.
No with the MEGA 360. Have to use HW CHIRP with the MEGA 360.

Is it better to run my us2 sonar to another graph up front or can I use the y splitter and connect us2 to that to get depth reading on 360. Does any of that hurt 360 image quality or cause interference

You would not use a Y cable for the US2 and MEGA 360.

Connect the MEGA 360 ONLY to the G3N with the included 14-pin to 7-pin adapter.
Connect the US2 to another unit---it is a 83/200 kHz transducer---the other unit has to have 83/200 kHz capability and you would use the Generic 83/200 kHz Connected Transducer setting.

No Y cable would be involved.

I have two Helix Units. 12” MSI +GPS G3N at council. 10” MDI + GPS G3N on bow. I’ve got my MEGA 360 Ultrex coming next week. When I talked with Humminbird support they said I would use/need the Y cable (9-M360-2DDI-Y) for hooking up my M360 to my Helix on the bow. They said this way I’ll have M360 or MDI to use. What do you think?

    thanks Don

If you use the SI+ unit, you loose the use of the SI piezos in the SI transducer because the MEGA 360 replaces those two circuits.
The DI+ model is the best choice to use with the MEGA 360. It will run the MEGA 360 and add Side Imaging to that unit if you want to use the MEGA 360 for SI.
You can view 360, DI, and 2D at the same time if you want:

So if I unhook the Transducer from my Helix 10” MDI Unit on bow and hook my M360 cable into its place I can run everything normal and have M360 Imaging and MDI when the M360 is not used? Sorry for my ignorance but I’m still confused.

The MEGA 360 does 360 and Side Imaging.
It connects to the unit's transducer port.
No way can you have DI/2D/Temp without also having a MEGA Down Imaging transducer connected.
That is what the MEGA 360 Y cable is for.

I'm reviving this thread with pics of Mega 360. I do a different kind of fishing than most on this forum but thought my first pics might be of interest to other Mega 360 owners. In my case, I troll for stripers at 2.5 to 3 MPH and am typically in 25' to 100' bottom depths. I'm only trying to target the stripers so I am only interested in spotting schools of stripers in the water column and not the bottom or structure. This requires much different settings than most of you probably use.

This was actually my first full day of use of the Mega 360 so I still have lots to learn but I know enough through this one day to know that the Mega 360 will definitely serve a good use for my trolling efforts. If you are interested in more details about these pics, I have a detailed post at --> http://www.bbcboards.net/showthread.php?t=1096022
