    Merc service

I just moved to the Raleigh area almost a year ago... I’m looking for someone to service my merc pro xs. Motor is 7 years old now and need someone to do a complete checkup. Is there anyone in the area you guys would recommend? Thanks in advance.

    Also have...

R&K marine in Knightdale. Neal has been there forever. Probably he closest to you if you are in Raleigh.
Pitstop Marine in Angier... just outside Raleigh and do great reasonably priced work.

Another vote for Pitstop. I have heard R&K is good too.

I had 60 Fourstroke at R&K more than once and he could not fix it. Had my 150 Opti at Pitstop and same story. I’ll give him credit though as he didn’t charge me anything except to replace all the fuel lines which i had been wanting to do anyway. He recommended Angler’s Choice in VA so I took it up there and he fixed it in a couple days. Later took it to a guy outside of Selma, I forget the name, for another issue that he fixed quickly for a good price. It was, however, very simple and had I bothered to take the cowl off I probably would have seen it but it was fuel related so I chickened out. He had good things to say about Brian at Bass Pro. I have dealt with him for a couple things and like him. He helped me diagnose a bad coil and I don’t think he charged me. But, I think they are high on prices and can get pretty backed up.

Randy @ Outback Marine? He is good also.

Come to think of it we are kinda blessed on this area to have multiple really good choices.
