    CPT-100DVS transducer

I have a CPT-100DVS transducer that I need to install. It looks similar to my LSS sidescan Lowrance transducers but doesn't do sidescan.

Because it doesn't do sidescan, can it be installed sideways? or will that affect the downscan that it does do?

Not sure why you would mount it sideways, but yes, it will affect your down scan and 2-D which are set to read front to back on the unit. You can reverse it front to back, back to front but not sideways.

If you try angling it go with about a 30 degree tilt.
Your 2d depth will probably jump around, but it will scan similar to sidescan. same principle.
pick a known structure like a bridge pier first, to get an idea what it does.
