What is the lightest manual jackplate?

    1993 Bullet 20XD
    2000 225 Promax
Currently has a 10” Rapid Jack.

I’m considering replacing my jack plate after having a discussion with Hydro Dynamics about repairing my jack plate. Weight is one of the factors I’m looking at when considering replacement jack plates. Does anyone know if there is a particularly heavy jack plate to stay away from or one that is significantly lower weight than the rest. I’m guessing most are in the 45 to 60 pound range based on materials alone.

Specifically, I’m looking for a manual jackplate with 14” of setback and the ability to accept a hole-shot/skid plate. I am leaning toward the Rapid Jack Magnum.

My opinion, if you’re wanting a 14”, I’d just get the rapid jack magnum and not think on it anymore. It’s what I’ve got and most of us Bullet guys have anyways. You won’t go wrong with it.

Thanks, your feedback has been noted.

I have sent an email to each of the following asking about the weight of their respective jackplates.

    STR 42 lbs
    Rapid Jack Magnum 49-50lbs 14”
    Bob’s 71 lbs 14”
Vance 45 lbs., but only make a 12”
    R&R 57 lbs, but only makes a 12”
    T&H Z Lock 58 lbs, but only makes a 12”

After realizing that there are many 12” jackplates and only a few 14” jackplates, I sent an email and found out the Bob’s 2” spacers are 8 lbs per set.

    Am I missing any?

It really comes down to quality. Id rather have a rapid jack if it weighed 300lbs and cost twice as much. I bet i have the only xpress out there with a rapid jack on it. Ive had all the others you mention plus more.

To everybody that provided feedback, thank you very much. Listed above is the data for common manual jack plate weights. If I missed any that should be considered please let me know.

Just my two cents , I would get the best jack plate not the lightest and put floatation in it . I have seen jackplates split in half I rather have a beefy one

av, which jack plate have you seen split in half? How do you objectively determine one has enough strength or is “beefy”?

Rapid Jack magnums are 1/2” thick plating. Built like a tank.

WVBullet, how thick are the Bob’s? I only ask because the Rapid Jack is much lighter.

Bob’s heavier models are 1/2” plate with a little different design. Weight depends on which one you looked at. You have build-in spacers. Some models have a bottom plate and the Extreme Gen 3 has a plate mounting system if you want to upgrade from manual to hydraulic. So there’s some possible extra weight.
Here’s a chart of standard jackplate specs.
