2016 + Nissan Titan. Yes, No, Kick it to the curb?

Current vehicle is up their in mileage and I’m going to sell it in January. Was thinking about a used 2016 + Nissan Titan Crew Cab with the gas motor to get me by until Toyota finally updates the Tundra or 4Runner, whenever that will happen? Looking around online, it seems Titans don’t hold their very well which is good for a buyer buying used but also wondering why are they selling so low? I found a few just casually looking online 2018’s Titan Crew Cab 4x4’s with less than 30,000 miles selling for under $25,000. I was wondering if we have any members on here that have a Titan and could give feedback on the truck. Transmission, Engine, Electrical problems? Anything to look out for? Is it worth buying or look for something else?

I have a 2018 4x4 and it’s been great so far. 20k miles on it. It pulls my Triton 18 TRX no problem at all. It gets around 14 mpg towing and 18-20 when not. I have no complaints and plan on keeping it for awhile.

If you’re planning on buying and selling within a few years I’d say no. Not a truck that everybody wants. Stick with a Ram, Ford, or Chevy

Only 21k Titans sold in 2016 ..... likely very low demand when you go to re-sell it.

Buddy of mine had one with 150,000 miles on it. Really nice truck and pulled like a train. I’d buy one in a heartbeat who cares what it sells for?? It’ll do you a great job

The Titan received lousy reviews for rough ride and questionable build quality, hence the low sales rate. But if you get a really good price, it fulfills your needs, and you keep it for a few years it can be a good value. Just make certain you take a plenty lengthy test drive.

I don't own a Titan but I do own 6 Nissan NV2500s and 3500s. I honestly don't know if the drivetrain is similar but I would assume it is. I was very resistant at first on the Nissans but I am convinced! My oldest is a 2011 with 150k miles and just yesterday it got its second set of brakes and had to fix an exhaust leak. That has been the only problem outside of regular maintenance. I did have one that has intermittent back up camera failures and a bad windshield washer pump. No other issues at all. It would lead me to looking at a Titan if I was in the market for a 1500

Nissans seem to still have rust problems today.

Don't want it, couldn't use it. Much better options out there. But will say their Skyliner is one bad S.O.B.

2013 Nisasn Titan here, Only have had it for 9 months bought it used with 55000 on the OD, 5.6 v8 so far so good. I have put about 4000 miles on it so far, most of time pulling my 19 ft Triton F-S. I took a big chance on this but the price was right and it got me out of a big problem on my last truck. Getting ready to put on new tires on the Titan and hope to go long term with it. The only problem I do have with it, it drinks gas like I drink BEER. Not a problem because it is not my daily driver. We our a family of Nissan, my other drive is a Nissan versa, wife drives a Nissan Altium 13000 on the od, Daughter drives a Nissan Rouge..

They are good trucks and all brands will have problems. But I have to agree that they don’t resell as well as most brands.

Won’t go into a long drawn out post .. but no .. we sell them from time to time as there are not many full 4 door mid size trucks left to get people that are not 15-20k with 130k miles on them ... wish we had another option

It's all relevant. Buy it cheap, sell it cheap. It will get you by until you can get what you want.

Damn, do you know what was wrong with it?

Edit: Gas or Diesel? I’m not interested in Diesel Titan’s.

It was a diesel. For sure many of the issues were engine related but he also had problems with the transmission and electronics. Didn't read your post closely and see now you were thinking gas engine, his experience may or may not be relevant. One thing we all know, any make can put out a stinker!
