    Grill/smoker blanket

Anyone have any idea what I can use to insulate my grill/smoker up here in the frozen tundra? They sell them but want a $100 for one. Thanks

Gas Weber has no trouble all winter, but I don’t even try the charcoal smoker.

Welders blanket holds heat well and won't burn. Harbor Freight had them for less then 20 bucks a couple of weeks ago.

I thought about a less expensive/DIY alternative for my pellet grill. But, I went ahead and bought a blanket for my Camp Chef and it’s VERY thick and well built. I would guess you’d have to use multiple layers of welding blankets to achieve the same results. I noticed the grill using far fewer pellets to hold its temperature.

Are you having trouble getting it to get to temp or just trying to save fuel?

    ^^^This^^^

I've been to BBQ cook offs before and seen them do this on their small standup barrell smokers.
