I love muddy water. Makes them so much easier to catch and so much more predictable. You can literally get right on top of them without spooking them and they are so predictable as to where they will be. Very tight to cover. Short, accurate casts with a Colorado bladed spinnerbait is just deadly in muddy water.

If you are fishing a river system might as well stay home and watch football. If you are lake fishing you might have a shot at some shallow fish no one's been harassing for a while cause everyone been fishin deep. Those deepwater fish aren't going to swim a mile to go back shallow because the water got muddy. There's muddy water and cold muddy water big difference.

Chartreuse or Fire Tiger squarebill or Trap if they’re chasing.
    Chartreuse and white spinnerbait.
Jig and Pig flipped or pitched if they’re close to cover.
    After that, I’d head home

If it's in the Carolinas (Yadtkin,Catawba) Jig and Spinnerbaits. They'll run to shallow cover especially tree-laps every time.

50-52 degree water temperature.....that's beach weather. Lakes are frozen over here.....we won't see 50-52 degree water for close to 5 months....if you have open water take advantage and fish it!

50-52 degree and stained to muddy water on a river or backwater is catching time. They will bite.

Stained to muddy water is more about fishing baits with some thump or bulk as they will use lateral line more to feed. All the baitfish get pale in color too so white will work just as well as darker colors.

Spinnerbait with a #6 Colorado blade slow rolled. Use 3/4 oz spinnerbait (check out the new Booyah Covert) to keep it down and maybe a Keitech fat trailer for more water movement.

This. Fished a small flooded reservoir back around Halloween and water temps were 48-50 and muddy. The water dropped 6” when we were out there. Ended up flipping 90% of the time and caught around 30-40 and every one was within 3’ of the shore. Slow day since last year we had over 110 fish.

I tie a very similar color skirt on my spinner baits with a large colorado blade and a smaller red or orange colorado blade in dirty water around here in the river. Get it close to cover and they will see it and jump on it.
