Thumbs Up EC Plus 93 w/GT54

Have an Ultra 12 with the GT54 ducer.....12 is on console with other ducers so decided to try the GT54 with 93 Plus on the bow. With that combo, it works but you do not get the UHD frequencies, only 455 on side and 840 on clear. From the few times i tried it, works pretty good......IMO, seems to be better than the 52 at least on the clear vu compared to 800 on the 52. If i had another Ultra up there i think the pics would be alot better.....

I am working thru an issue when in shallow water About 6' or less, messes up....

    Here are a few screenshots......

This one to show the few fish next to the tree

Looks to be a brush pile and tree on bottom

Coming out of a shallow cut and come across a brush pile and fish

I picked up a GT54 on the cheap and hooked it to my 93sv plus. I second this motion. Much clearer images on clear and side views. Of course, I cannot use the UHD frequencies but still a noticeable difference.

So you guys are saying that the GT54 gives better images than the GT52 that comes with the Echomap 93sv plus. That unit we all bouggt at Bass pro last year when they had them for $600.

In my opinion, Yes......i have not put my GT52 back on and the EC+ unit in the screenshot above is the "First Gen" of the EC+ units that came out.....i mean the clear vu is 200% better than the GT52......

Also keep in mind, with the non UHD Echomap Plus units you do not get the high def frequency on side vu.......

Are these photos from screen shots taken with the Garmin unit or taken from an outside source such as a i phone. Trying to get some recordings from side vu through the 93 sv plus but they are not looking very good when opened in Home Port, Thanks for any advice.

I am running the 93 plus with the 54 that comes on the Garmin trolling motor,, I dont recall much difference between it and the 8/30 combo I had last year. I did get a set of recommended settings from a Garmin guy, but havent been out yet." When I do I can check it out though as the Dash unit is identical but running off the 8//30 bundle. No idea how to get a screen shot though. But would be interesting to get 2 shots of the same stump from the 2 different transducers.
Depth , water temp, pretty much what I get out of them to be honest. I heard mentioned I could run it only looking one way, gonna try that out.

Flahers were pretty cool actually. Had a knob to adjust gain, you could adjust it on the fly while looking at it, not buried in 6 submenus. Gave instant feedback, tell you how hard the bottom was, IE mud, or oyster bed.

No... don't sell the 93.... use it for mapping up front with the Ultra. I'm considering a 93 of some sort for just that purpose. I have an Ultra 10" and 12"... I find and mark brush/rocks with the sidescan at the helm and using my chart, (with steadycast heading sensor) I position the boat to the mark I made...and use livescope to fish it.... when I get blown off my mark I have to switch screens on my bow unit to mapping relocate the mark and then back to livescope again to fish it... its not bad using the presets to switch views but another display to show the chart would be more fluid... I don't want to split screen, I'd rather switch views than that, but another unit would be the bomb...
