I work with a ton of Northstar batteries at work for backup power if we lose commercial AC power and they are absolute junk.... I myself would never buy a Northstar battery....

9 seasons with Interstates??? Hurry, go buy a lotto ticket!!!

Glad you haven't had any issues, but I and many many others I've talked to have. My lovely 14 month old Interstate batteries left me 2 miles from a boat ramp on Dale Hollow Lake in January after dark in below freezing temps. I finally made it to the ramp and the next day 3 out of my 4 fourteen month old batteries load tested bad.

Definitely not Interstate. They are all junk. Only hold 10.5 volts after little use. All my electronics power off of this and have power issues by the end of the day.

This was a new battery so I brought it back and got another one same model. Same power and volt issue. JUNK, JUNK, JUNK!!!

This was the 31 group AGM

Sam’s has the 31 AGM on sale for $159.00. 27 and 34 series on sale also. Hell of a deal.

And a question about cranking amps. Do you consider CCA, or MCA when buying a cranking battery? The Duracell 31 AGM is 800 CCA which is low compared to some others mentioned.

I bought the X2 from batteries plus late this past summer. Seems to work great, kinda pricey (359.00 i think) hope to really abuse it this season.

X2 and Northstar are the same battery. Go with either one and you won’t be disappointed. And yes the dual purpose (Marine and RV) 1150 CCA and 220 minute reserve time.

Had a bunch of issues with three separate interstate cranking batteries, no more for me. I’ve been running the batteries plus X2, group 31, for the last three years and couldn’t be happier.

Unless they have another 31 series Duracell AGM Marine battery that’s not shown on their website that’s the battery everyone is referring to. Identical to the Duracell Ultra Platinum 31 series listed on Batteries Plus as a DeepCycle/Dual Purpose/Start battery depending the category you search.
