    Stickmarsh

Heading down the second week of January wondering how the water levels are this year?

Water level is great.....fishing - not so much.......could be the cold fronts we have had but the lake has not fished like it used to last year or this year. That hurricane and water a couple of years ago hurt it some. But the water level is just fine.

Hurricanes did not hurt the Stick Marsh, that's just what the FWC wants people to think, so don't help them by passing on bad info. Over spraying, no grass, no fish, dirty mudhole.

Hurricane Irma did damage there just like it did Lake Okeechobee.

Just got off Stick Marsh today. Been fishing it for 10 years. Unless something changes I would fish the other lakes in the area. Guy I fish with fishes it 3-5 days a week.

The lakes in that area change so much monthly. Depends if St. Johns river is moving water, weather, etc. Hit me up next month and I can provide a recommendation.

80 and still killing it! Funny story from last year. We were putting boat up after 8 hours on the water and Bruce asked another boater how he did. Guy said, not so good and when you are 74 it will be hard for you (lol).

I was told the winds did heavy damage to the vegetation there like it did at Okeechobee.

Thats what I was referring to in the earlier post, that is not accurate information and should not be continually passed on, especially by fisherman. The one and only thing that destroyed the vegetation in the StickMarsh is the FWC and their overspraying, period.

The hurricanes in 2004 did most of the damage, long before the spraying started but the spraying being done now isn't helping. When we got the 2 hurricanes in two weeks in 2004, it did a lot of damage to the bottom at the Stick Marsh, which it never seemed to recover. You are the one passing the wrong info....
