    24v to 36v upgrade

Just ordered a 36v ultrex to go in to the 2019 P2. Anything I need to know going from 24v to 36v on install? Just add battery and jumper?

I did this to my 08 Cougar. Make sure your wiring is the correct gauge. Shouldn't be an issue as BC usually uses 6ga. Also I had to add the 60 amp breaker. Since my boat is older, i replaced all my jumpers that had inline breakers and went with a single minn kota 60 amp.

getting ready to do the same to mine.
mine is a tad different as it has the old style 4 wire 24v system.
yours should be pretty easy add battery, jumper and how ever you want to do the charger. some just stay with the 3 bank charger but some go to a 4 bank. ill be going to the 4 bank just for convenience.

Use at least a 6 gauge jumper and you are good to go. The 36 volt is a lot of thrust for a P2. Not sure of the conditions that you fish, but, if you are running the motor near high speeds for long periods of time, you may just need the 60 amp breaker as recommended by MK. lf you do change it out, you might as well put on the Blue Seas switch (187 series) that has a built in cut off so that you can disconnect from the battery while charging rather than having to unplug it each time.

I have a 36 volt on my P2. I wouldn’t have another boat without it
