    Traction Pad Adhesive?

I'm replacing 2014 520C cockpit carper w/ traction pad. Looking for 1. what to use to remove old glue, and 2. what adhesive to use to apply new pad. If 3M Marine Adhesive, do I use 5200 or 4000?

    Thanks,

    BBC

Acetone is the most common thing people use to remove carpet glue from fiberglass. I would think it would also remove what your trying to remove. Regarding 3M 5200 and 4200...3M 5200 makes a permanent bond. The only way your removing 3M 5200 is if you use an air chisel so it's only recommended for things that require a permanent bond. 3M 4200 makes a good seal and will attach items together but in the instance you want to remove the item 4200 can be pulled away from the surface it was attached to.

Buy your new Traction pad from Ranger, it has a self stick back on it so no glue required.

oscillating tool with a scraper head and it will make short work of that area. you can also use the wood cutting attatchment too for real stubborn areas and you wont need chemicals or rags just vaccum it up
