    Irish Hills area?

I live in Ky and would like to plan a Summer trip to Michigan for fun fishing.

I Don’t know enough about St. Clair to go there ,so any recommendations
for some inland lakes to hit in Southern Michigan in early June?

I saw the Irish Hills area mentioned before on here but am open to anything.
would prefer to rent a cabin in a central area.

    thanks for any help

If you are renting, Try and get on a private lake... They can really be fun.

You really dont need to know much about LSC to find fish in June...Even if the wind blows you will catch more and bigger Largemouth in the Marinas than any inland lake in Southern Michigan...As far as smallmouth you can just head to Anchor bay or the mile roads in June and you will catch fish...Plentybof information out there to get you through it.
If you really dont want to go to LSC I would consider Coldwater chain, Gun Lake or the St Joe river...All are fairly close to the border..You could hit Muskegon Lake, The Grand river bayous and White lake which is a little farther north but you get to see Lake Michigan and lots of things for the family to do...
I dont know anything about lakes in the Irish hills area but someone will be able to help you out...

Be careful about the private lake. You may not be able to use your boat on the lake.

I live in Brooklyn in the Heart of the Irish Hills. Tons and tons of lakes private and public. 52 of them within 8 miles!!! Evans Lake is killer. Numbers and big fish. They have a resort with cabins. One of the hidden gems in the area.

It was just a heads up. Not trying to police. But we do have rules.

Better start with keeping the ducks, geese, turtles, muskrats, kayakers, paddleboarders, from going lake to lake first...

Irish hills public lakes haven’t been too impressive the last two years. I haven’t fished Evans, I believe that would require a resort stay as it’s private. Wamplers wasn’t that great and vineyard is so , so, nothing miraculous. Cold water chain or let me know when you’re coming and we can fish st Claire! I’ll follow you in my boat :).

If if you decide to try st Claire let me know I can describe different areas
