    Sugar in cornbread

Cornbread is usually available around our house. When I was growing up it was pretty well stated that sugar doesn’t belong in the batter. Since I usually make the stuff, over the years I have tried a couple different recipes and the older I get I seem to like a little sugar in the batter. How bout the BBC family?

Some will say it's the work of the devil, others will say it's OK. I will eat either.

It’s cooking. Make it the way you like it. If you like peanut butter and garlic in it, go for it.

My wife puts so much sugar in hers, you hardly need any honey to put on it... it's delicious (her 101 year old gramma's recipe)

There is NO recipe for cornbread that I don't like. I love them all. With sugar, without, honey only, cajun spice in it, jalapenos and cheese, you name it. They're ALL good!

Depends. If I’m eating it on the side I don’t mind a little sugar in it. If I’m eating it with legumes I definitely don’t want sugar in it.
