    Question 3D module im going crazy..

    I just got the 3D module and it worked great 1st day i took it out.
    Did the latest update on it 19.1 not realizing it was garbage update.
    Went back to 18.2 update.
    Now side scan looks bad and down scan does not work with all 3 units hooked up (2 gen2s and 1 gen3)
    If i unplug the ethernet cables from my other 2 units (gen 2 both) then then side scan and down scan both work and look great on gen3 unit.
    Is there a fix for this?
    If i was to run ethernet from units to units and not to 3D module (except gen3 unit to 3D module) would i still get the function of side and down scan on gen2 units? if so how can i network all units together to have map sharing without having issues with side scan and down scan?
    All units have been hard reset with the same results.
    Gen3 update went from 18.2-60.1.142 to 18.2-60.1.134
    Gen2 update went from 6.0-54.2.46 to 5.5-54.2.18
    Have not been out with downgrading software.

    May want to call/chat w/ Lowrance Customer Service regarding SS3D Firmware Level and Compatibility w/ Gen 2, unclear to me if that is a supported option on latest FW...May need to back up further on your SS3D.

    99% sure SS3D came out with Gen 3 and was meant for those units and newer.

    Take a look towards the end of this thread for info om software. And keep in mind the Gen 3 also needs to be downgraded, and to do hard resets on the units after downgrading. http://www.bbcboards.net/showthread.php?t=740038

    That last 1% must be the reason SS 3D works very well on Gen 2 as long as the softwareversion is correct. ;)

    Just went through the exact same thing for 2 weeks. The solution was to throw away the SS3D box and just buy the 3in1 xducer......all is perfect now.
